The parish priest of Molveno, Don Taialacqua, had seen us at length. In the sixteenth century, with his initiative supported by the villagers, a sawmill was built with the idea of exploiting, thanks to the toothed wheel, the strength of the water of the Rio Molini, fresh water that descends today as then from the springs of the Brenta.
Today here in Molveno, half a millennium later, the mechanism that allowed cutting the boards, called "Molvene", is still working.
During the summer a sawmill organizes guided tours with demonstration: you book them in the information office of the country.
You can see the exterior all year round: discover the history thanks to the information panels.
